Sitting at an altitude of 2,300m Val Thorens is the highest resort in Europe with accessﾠto the world’s largest ski area, the “3 Vallées” – 600km of groomed runs, 25 summits, 6 glaciers,ﾠ16 villages and resorts and the largest panoramic scenery in the alps from the “Cime de Caron”ﾠwith 1,000 peaks in front of you.
Val Thorens is a snow sure resort with most of the accommodation benefiting from doorstep skiing from late November to early May conditions allowing of course! There really is something to suit all levels of skiers and snowboarders from beginner to expert. There are 4 ski schools, 2 snow gardens for young children and a dedicated beginner area with moving carpets
There are lots of things to do for non skiers – bowling centre with its 8 lanes, large screen showing sports, pool & games area and bar open until 2am, they often have live bands playing. There are several health and well-being spas in resort – massage, sauna, steam, facial & body treatments. The large leisure centre in the centre of the town in the Galerie Caron has swimming pools, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, fitness classes, sports courts and fitness suite. In here you will also find a play centre for children aged 11 years and under with trampolines, bouncy castles, ball ponds. Outdoor activities include snow shoe tracks, snow scooters, ice driving, mountain biking on the snow and also the 6km toboggan run with a 45 minute descent with a starting altitude of 3,000m.

Skiing Val Thorens & The 3 Valleys
Snow can be guaranteed for all of the seasons with Val Thorens being Europe’s highest resort. The Val Thorens ski pass covers the slopes in both Val Thorens and Orelle. This is an area of approximately 169 km of pisted runs plus ample of off-piste for the more advanced skiers and boarders. There is a great selection of pistes from green to black to keep all abilities happy. The snow parks have also been designed to cater for all abilities and there is an airbag for the more adventurous. The nursery slopes are free and equipped with 3 covered moving carpets to get you up the slopes without the need for walking up hill with your skis.
The ski area goes up as high as 3,230 metres and there is even a zip wire linking Orelle to Val Thorens where you are put into a harness, skis strapped to your back and then sent on your way at approx 80km per hour speed!
There are many lively bars and restaurants on the slopes such as The Folie Douce and Bar 360 for some Apres Ski drinks and dancing followed by the live bands and acts in the town centre bars. Val Thorens boasts the largest night club in the Alps called ‘Malaysia’ which has live bands on rather than a DJ most nights for a few hours. The Apres Ski and activities of things to do other than skiing are wide an varied and amongst the best in the Alps.
When the ski lift links are open access to Les Menuires, Meribel, Courchevel and La Tania offer you the largest ski area in the World for a daily or weekly supplement. It’s great to ski down to Meribel then cross the valley and ski to Courchevel for lunch. Whilst in the area ski the tree-lined runs of La Tania but make sure you catch the last lift back to Val Thorens.
The Val Thorens ski area is open from 23 November 2019 to 3 May 2020 and the 3 Valleys area is open from 7 December 2019 – 10 April 2020. Ski passes are valid for 6 days starting on Sunday and ending on Friday. If you require your ski passes for a shorter/longer duration or to start/end on different days of the week please ask us for an amended price.
Proof of age will be required for children’s, senior and free passes.
